Thanks to goals from Valon Behrami, Victor Obinna, and Scott Parker West Ham was able to overcome Wigan Athletic 3-1 on Saturday at Boleyn Ground.
Robert Green also almost came away with a clean sheet, but the late minute gimme goal couldn't be avoided.
While the Irons are still at the bottom of the table, they are coming into form of late.
West Ham will have a formidable task in facing Manchester United in the semi-finals of the Carling Cup. A win would go down as one of the greatest in the record books.
The match is on Wednesday. It is going to be a huge component to this young season
